Skills Gap Analysis

Understand current and future skill gaps across your organisation

The Skills Gap Analysis report helps you identify where demand for specific skills exceeds the available supply within your organisation. By comparing current and projected competence levels, you can better plan recruitment, training, certification initiatives, and workforce development.

The report analyses skills connected to projects, CVs, and forecasting data to highlight shortages across your organisation.


Access the Skills Gap Analysis report

To open the report:

  1. Go to Reports.

  2. Select Competences.

  3. Open the Skills tab.

  4. Select Gap analysis.

The report displays a list of skills together with current and projected availability.


Understand the report columns

The report includes the following columns:

Column

Description

Skill

The competence or certification being analysed.

Demand

The number of requested or required occurrences of the skill across projects and forecasts.

Supply

The number of employees currently registered with the skill.

Projected supply

The expected future availability of the skill based on forecasted changes and planned competence development.

Gap

The difference between demand and projected supply. A positive gap indicates a shortage.

Skills with the largest shortages appear at the top of the report.


Filter and customise the analysis

You can adjust the report using the available filters:

Filter

Description

Skill similarity

Includes related or similar skills in the analysis to broaden matching results.

Horizon

Defines how far into the future the forecast should analyse projected supply and demand.

These filters help you tailor the report depending on whether you want to review immediate shortages or long-term competence needs.


Use the report for workforce planning

The Skills Gap Analysis report can support decisions such as:

  • Identifying recruitment priorities

  • Planning internal training initiatives

  • Tracking certification needs

  • Evaluating future delivery capacity

  • Supporting strategic competence development

Regularly reviewing the report helps ensure your organisation maintains the skills needed for upcoming projects and business goals.
