Cinode’s search function helps you quickly locate relevant people, skills, and information across your organisation. You can search across All, Semantic skill search (beta), Skill search, or Tag search, and refine your results using filters such as office location, resource, team, or group.

All Search

Use All when you want to search across every profile block in your company. This provides a complete overview of information stored in employees’ profiles.

For example, to see which employees have worked at Nordea, type Nordea. The results will show individuals with previous assignments there. Select a person to open their profile overview and contact details.

Semantic Skill Search (beta)

Semantic Skill Search helps you find users based on meaning, not only exact wording. It broadens your results by including related skills and similar terms.

When you enter a skill, Cinode identifies users who have that skill as well as users with related or equivalent skills. This makes it easier to discover relevant competence, even if different terminology is used in profiles.

Results are ranked by similarity. The most relevant matches appear at the top.

You can combine skills with filters such as office location, resource, team, or group to narrow down the results and identify the right users.

For example, searching for Java may return users who have registered Java, Java-programmering, or other closely related skills.

Skill Search

Skill Search allows you to find people with specific, explicitly registered skills across your organisation. This search is based on exact skill matches.

Use filters to refine your search by team, resource, office location, or skill category.

When searching, think in terms of skill categories, such as:

  • Role in a project

  • Technologies, tools, or platforms

  • Industry experience

How to search for skills

  1. Apply relevant filters (for example, select the Project Managers team).

  2. Enter one or more skills, such as Java or Scrum, and press Enter.

  3. Click on a skill in the results to refine your search further.

You can refine results by:

  • Skill level

  • Years of experience

  • Usage in assignments

  • Favourite skill

  • Growth plan

Tag Search

Use Tag Search to find items by tags, such as customers or industries.

  1. Filter by type (e.g. Customer).

  2. Enter a tag like Banking and Finance and press Enter.

  3. Select a customer to view their detailed page.

Search Operators

You can refine your results using the following operators:

Default behaviour
By default, your search term is treated as “begins with”. For example, searching for Sam will return people named Sam or Samantha, as well as skills such as Samsung TVs or Audio Sampling.

Exact matches
Use double quotation marks to find an exact match. Searching for "Sam" will only return results containing the exact word Sam.

Wildcards
Use an asterisk (*) for broader searches. For example, searching for *th will return names such as Smith or Booth.

Single character replacement
Use a question mark (?) to replace a single character. For example, searching for Linds?y will return both Lindsay and Lindsey.
