How to Translate Your Skills

Add Translated Skills or Synonyms to Your Profile

When creating or updating a profile in another language, your skills should be translated using the correct terms for that language.

If a skill is not already translated, you can easily add a translation. In the Skills section, select the pencil icon next to the skill and choose the correct translation in the Synonyms field. If no suitable synonym exists, you can add one yourself.

To translate skills, you need access to edit your own profile or another employee’s profile.


Add a Translated Skill Synonym

  1. Go to Profile.

  2. Open the Skills section in the language you want to translate to.

  3. Select the pencil icon next to the skill you want to translate.

  4. In the Synonyms field:

    • Search for an existing translation or synonym and select it from the list, or

    • Type a new translation and add it manually.

  5. Save your changes.


Skill Levels and Translations

Adding a translated synonym does not alter the skill’s level or associated experience. The translation only affects how the skill is displayed and found in searches.

For example:

  • Skill: Banking and Finance

  • Synonym: Bank och Finans

  • Level: 4

The skill level remains identical across all translations.
