Skill tagging in Cinode is the most fundamental work happening in the organization. This make out the foundation for all other functionality in Cinode and at length produces documentation of the cumulative skill capital your firm possesses. Skill tags are used in many parts of Cinode, such as Skill report, Talent Business, search functions and in the consultant profile.
All skill tags are stored in a skill inventory report that sorts skills after how many consultants have tagged it and the cumulative skill level. The list can be filtered for predefined categories available in Cinode, Resource (Employees and Sub-contractors) and Team. If this list is all too sprawling and there are no clear instructions of how the consultant is to tag their skill, your firm may end up with a cluttering list filled with irrelevant skills.
When clicking on a skill while in the skill inventory report, you will enter a detailed page of skills. Here you will be showed who have tagged the skill but also what synonyms are accounted for in the skill. This means that if any synonym for the skill has been tagged in the profile, it countes as the same skill as the skill inventory report shows. The same applies for skill matching. However, the skill that has been tagged in the consultant profile will be shown no matter what synonym the skill belongs to. Therefore, it is recommended to have a distinct language set for skill tagging, and sticking to it as much as possible
Skill levels are also of importance, as the system calculates an average level while simultaneously showcasing the individual level of each consultant. This information is very effective when it comes to purchases and provides the ability to easily answer request specifications.
Match skills with requirements
Skill tags are also the foundation of matching a skill with a role in an assignment as skill requirements are made via skill tags. This only concerns anyone using our Talet Business module. For relevant consultants to be matched with relevant assignments it is required of the consultant to tag their skill, meaning the same skill defined in the role. If the skill requirement for a role that the consultant has to be experienced as a Project leader it is not enough for the consultant to tag Project leading in their profile. The system won’t match the consultant and the assignment in this example. The same applies for industries. If the industry is not matched in the consultant’s profile the system can not find a match. For this reason it may be important to tag more skills in an assignment than what initially feels necessary. In an assignment, the title and customer is stated which makes tagging role and industry as excessive. However, that data is needed to provied good statistics and to match for the right skill set.
Search for skills
Skill tags are also used to search among skills, and combinations of skills, without matching a consultant profile with an assignment.This matching function is only available for Talent Connect users, to search for the perfect combination of skills for an assignment.
By tagging the same skill in different assignments the system is given data to calculate experience length by the help of start and end dates in the assignment. In our Text search you can receive this information. Estimations are made on a six month basis. To trust the statistics, knowledge of when an assignment was initiated and finished, and what skills were tagged, is needed.
Lastly, skill tags are shown in consultant profiles, where the visualization may differ depending on how the templates has been developed. Either one of Cinode’s standard templates or a custom one.
